Position: Delivery Driver/Service Technician

Level: II

Location: Albuquerque

Job Summary:

The Driver/Service Technician uses sales, service and educational skills to ensure safe delivery, set-up and use of equipment and maintains the quality provider image for the organization in the community.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: Delivery and set up of medical equipment, develop and maintain working knowledge of current DME products and services, educate clients/caregivers in proper use and care of home medical equipment, clean and disinfect all equipment, perform routine preventive maintenance, participate in on-call rotation.

Regulatory requirements:

Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
Possess current valid driver’s license and liability insurance.
Able to lift 105 pounds from a squat to standing position.
Previous experience or successful completion of factory training seminar for home medical equipment preferred.

Excellent driving skills, clean driving record in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Division.
Excellent interpersonal skills.

Fiesta Parade in T or C

On May 1st, 2010 the TorC branch office participated in the 61st annual Fiesta Parade. The theme of this event was “Fiesta goes Hollywood.” Mike and Mary Merrell were kind enough to loan us their 42 ft boat that Mike pulled with their pickup. Our float was called “Disney’s Hollywood Soda Fountain,” which correlated with the custom ice cream paint job on the boat. We topped the boat with a handmade, 6 ft tall ice cream float, 7 of our youth volunteers dressed as Disney characters, and Kathy Chapman (administrator) and Bob Sidway (occupational therapist), who were also in costume. In addition to this we had several Disney characters walk beside the float to passed out candy. The list of characters included Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Tinker Bell, Cinderella, Woody from Toy Story, Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pinocchio, Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians, The Mad Hatter and the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland, and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. We posted Ambercare banners on each side of the pickup, that induced a general enunciation of “Wow! Look at Ambercares’ Float.” It was a fun and memorable experience in our community.

May 14^th and 15^th, Relay for Life held by the American Cancer Society, Ambercare office in TorC will be hosting multiple teams.

May 28^th, 29^th and 30^th, Annual Food-a-thon. Ambercare feeds the first responders and law enforcement that come from all over the state to keep the area safe over Memorial Day Weekend. The population of Elephant Butte can soar from about 2000 to over 100,000 people.

July 30^th , 31^st , and August 1^st, Beach Party at Elephant Butte for Ambercare employees.

October 30^th, Haunted House, free, safe, and fun place for community youth to trick or treat and spend Halloween.
